Triceratops and Torosaurus: Same Dinosaur Two dinosaurs became one this week, as paleontologists have just discovered that the dinosaurs previously known as Triceratops and Torosaurus are actually the same species. It was characterized as having a huge frill, bigger than that of Triceratops, with two large holes in it. Wi-Fi Without a Base Station Devices like the Ozmo2000 will turn everything with a Wi-Fi radio into a direct channel for wireless communication. By Christopher Mims The recently-announced Ozmo2000 chip is the first device that purports to support the not-yet finalized WiFi Direct standard. WiFi Direct promises to end the dependence of WiFi devices on nearby base stations: instead, they'll communicate directly with each other, advertising their presence, setting up ad-hoc networks and even hooking up with old school WiFi enabled devices. WiFi Direct and chips like the Ozmo2000 will end the conundrum of why an iPhone (for example) can't wirelessly connect directly to a nearby laptop when both aren't in range of a base station. So-called WiFi Personal Area Networks such as Intel's My WiFi already allow a version of this functionality, but it's limited - it only works between a laptop with Intel's Centrino chip running Windows 7 and a short list of approved devices.

Meet Yoda, a household pet born with an extra pair of ears. Chicago, Illinois, couple Valerie and Ted Rock took the cat in two years ago after they visited a local bar, where a group of drinkers were handing the animal around and making fun of him. Since being adopted by the Rocks and after getting his picture posted on the Internet, the two-year-old feline has become an international media celebrity. The Rocks have received calls from Good Morning America, Fox News and The Tyra Banks Show. The moggy's mugshot has graced the pages of the London Guardian and British tabloids. Despite his strange appearance, Yoda - named after the pointy-eared Star Wars character (pictured below) - is a perfectly normal and affectionate cat and a delight to have around. His extra ears are thought to be the result of a genetic mutation. But Yoda's owners are keeping a close watch on their much-loved pet. They are concerned he could be catnapped because he is so different.
